  • Intro:

More problems for Rio's troubled preparations for the 2016 Olympic Games.

More than 2,000 construction workers have gone on strike for the second day.

    Script:

Just what the Rio Olympics don't need.

Around 2,300 construction workers off work for the second day of strikes that has slowed work at the Olympic Park for the 2016 Games.

Adding to a growing list of problems confronting organisers with the Olympics just over two years away.

Union officials say their action centres on wages and working conditions.

The construction consortium building the site say they expect to quickly make up any lost time, with the timetable unaffected.

The Rio Olympics have been plagued by delays on many construction projects.

Work on the second largest cluster of venues in the north of the city, in an area called Deodoro, has yet to begin.
