Federer and Wawrinka stunned by Kazakhstan pair

  • Intro:

Kazakhstan lead Switzerland 2-1 in the Davis Cup quarter-final after Andrey Golubev and Aleksandr Nedovyesov beat Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka.

    Script:

Kazakhstan are one win away from knocking Switzerland out of the Davis Cup after a truly remarkable upset in the doubles on day two.

Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka had their serve broken in the very first game of this match against Andrey Golubev and Aleksandr Nedovyesov, and it would cost them the set.

The Kazakhstan pair were giving the Olympic champions a real headache.

And it got worse with defeat on a tiebreak in the next set.

The minnows were starting to believe but this year's Australian Open winner Wawrinka and one of the games all time greats Federer hit back to take the next set 6-4.

All that did was delay the away side's joy as they took the next on another tiebreak.

You can hear the whistles from the home support, they expect two wins in the reverse singles tomorrow, they might not get it.
