France keep Davis Cup hopes alive

  • Intro:

Julien Benneteau and Michael Llodra beat Germany's Andre Begemann and Tobias Kamke in a must-win rubber for France in their Davis Cup quarter-final in Nancy.

    Script:

Lose this doubles match and France were out of the Davis Cup, it was as simple as that for Julien Benneteau and Michael Llodra, who were up against Germany's Andre Begemann and Tobias Kamke.

Passions were high on court as well as in the crowd in Nancy as the French pair dominated the first set 6-1.

After winning both singles matches on day one, suddenly Germany might have had some doubts, especially when Begemann hurt his knee.

He got up to play his part in a much better second set for the Germans but he couldn't stop France taking a 2-love lead with this tie-break.

Germany kept the rubber alive by winning the third set 6-4.

But France took the next set 7-5, they are still in the Davis Cup, the comeback is on.
