Friday, April 04 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Andrew Cowen from Rockford, Illinois is aiming to become the first person to bowl the perfect 300 point ten pin game backwards.

Cowen, who suffers from a knee injury, has already scored a 280 game so his goal is within sight.

    Script:

"It's a lot of fun and a lot of people come down and say that's really neat, what's going on, how do you do it?"

No, it's not April Fool's Day.

This guy really bowls like this.

    Backwards.

Goodness knows we've all tried it.

    Difference is, he's good:

"Nobody's thrown a 300 and I figured it would be an interesting challenge to kind of throw that way."

Andrew Cowen from Rockford, Illinois aiming for the perfect game:

"It helps because my knees aren't in the best shape and when I throw backwards it doesn't really affect my knee because there's no knee bend."

To become the first to score 300 points backwards:

"There wasn't really anybody to role model after. It's really just something I've had to pioneer on my own and discover what works."

"You're gonna take a step back, push away. Step two you're gonna have the ball down, step three you're gonna have the ball forward swing in front of you. Step four you're gonna throw it back down the lane."

Andrew's already scored a 280 game so his goal is within sight.

    The backward bowling king.
