    Script:

Dori Carter shot the round of her career at the Kia Classic with an 8-under 64 to take a second-round lead at Aviara Golf Club in California on Friday.

The American golfer from Georgia sunk this birdie on the way to topping the leaderboard at 10-under par and setting a new course record.

Fellow Americans Stacy Lewis and Cristie Kerr are tied for second at 8-under par, with Lizette Salas occupying solo fourth. The Californian's second bogey-free round left her three shots off the lead at 7-under.

Three golfers are tied for seventh: Paula Creamer, Lexi Thompson and Shanshan Feng.

Creamer made it to seven under par with a birdie putt on the 10th hole but she ended the day where she started: at five under.

    Thompson -- a three-time winner already at the age of 19 -- recorded a 70...

Whilst Feng shot a round of 71, including this pitch-and-run birdie from off the green. The tournament is sponsored by a car manufacturer and this three-way rivalry is set to drive on.
