Galatasary moved above Bayern Munich to stay in touch of the qualifying places in round 11 of the Euroleague top 16 on Friday.

They beat the German side 76-69

This three from Malik Hairston put the result beyond doubt in the final quarter to the delight of the 10,000 plus crowd in Istanbul.

Like the Turkish supporters, Olympiakos saw their football team go out of Europe this week so it may have been something of a tonic to see their basketball side thrash Laboral Kutxa Vitoria in group E.

Vassilis Spanoulis top scored for them with 16 points in a 89-59 point win, that leaves them in the top four and knocks Laboral out of contention.

One Spanish team have qualified though and that is FC Barcelona, they are top of group E and kept up their 100 percent top 16 record with this win at Malaga.

A double-double of points and rebounds from Ante Tomic played a big role as they eased past the home side 77-61.

Milan are Barca's nearest challengers in the group, they were looking for revenge against Anadolu Efes who beat them with a three-pointer on the buzzer in the reverse fixture.

This time is was the Italian side's turn to win late-on, they trailed by four going into the final quarter but turned it round to win 76-69. Their play-off hopes are very much alive.
