Anna Fenniger won her first overall World Cup title on Thursday by finishing second in this Super-G race in Switzerland.

That was enough to give her an unassailable 215 point lead with two races remaining, that will take place this weekend.

She would likely have had to wait longer if her closest challenger, Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany, had not sustained season-ending injuries after crashing in the downhill on Wednesday.

Switzerland's Lara Gut has since overtook Hoefl-Riesch as Fenniger's main rival but even winning here would not be enough to keep the title race alive.

She did though give the vocal home support something to cheer about by coming down in one minute, 17.14 seconds and winning the event and the season-long Super-G title, her first World Cup trophy.
