  • Intro:

Postgame reaction from Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur after the New Jersey beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 in Newark. The 41-year-old veteran has been the subject of trade rumours ahead of the NHL trade deadline.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (English) Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Devils Goaltender:

"It was nice that the fans reacted like that. I haven't played since January 7 here in the building. So it's been a while and I'm happy to get back in here and play well enough to win."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Devils Goaltender (On if he'll remain with team):

"I had some good conversations with (General Manager) Lou (Lamoriello) about what I want to do for the rest of the year and maybe next year and from there it's up to him to make the decision that he wants. He knows exactly where I stand and this is a private matter between me and him. It's been a hard couple of weeks and it's been a hard last part of the season for me without playing at all and we'll see what will happen. I've played two games now in four days so I'm a little tired."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Martin Brodeur, New Jersey Devils Goaltender (On pressure during game):

"I tried to enjoy the moment. A lot of people are telling me that it might be my last game. It was Long Island and now it's here so if it is I wanted to enjoy it as much as I could. I'm not sure if it is, so for me I prepare myself the same way."
