SOUNDBITE: (English) Sage Kotsenburg, snowboarding slopestyle gold medalist
"It feels crazy. It's like a dream come true for sure. I know that everyone says that but it is a dream come true for sure. I'm from Park City in Utah and having the Olympics there in 2002 and I watched a couple of the events and the highlight of my Olympics in 2002 was watching Ross Powers, Danny Klass and Jarret Thomas sweep the half pipe podium and I was like, this is unreal. This is the coolest thing ever because I was just getting into snowboarding."
"You're definitely super focused. All you're thinking about is the trick in front of you. You don't want to think about a trick three jumps ahead when you're just trying to focus on another one because then you'll get all mixed up and probably and probably fall on your face or something. So you're just really focused and in the air it's just a feeling of free fall, it's like a roller coaster almost."
"I think that the world needed to see slopestyle because snowboarding is a very different sport from figure skating or gymnastics or anything. We're all really different and individual people and this is what the kids are doing nowadays. So we're all definitely stoked to be in the Olympics. We come from a crazy background as I said, but we're all super stoked to be in and as long as we do it in a good way and go about it and definitely benefit snowboarding and portray it in a good way, I think we're all really stoked."
