"Honestly, it feels like a dream right now. Just winning a gold on the first day and the first time for slopestyle in the Olympics had been seriously, the craziest thing ever. I thought about a little bit, but I never, I don't know there is something like, I didn't really think it would happen because it's just too much to take in at once. But I'm really stoked to just...I can't believe this all in one day too. It feels like already a week ago that it happened because it's just been already getting so crazy. But I'm so stoked to be here and representing the USA for sure and being part of the first slopestyle team for the US is pretty cool and then bringing home the gold is just icing on the cake."

"With Shaun dropping out it definitely kind of sucked because, I mean, most of the spotlight in snowboarding is on Shaun. But when he dropped out it was kind of cool because people kind of said 'oh, there's the other guys that compete too.' It's kind of funny to see. But he's going to go rocking the (half)pipe which is going to be sick to watch. I wish he was in it because it would have been sick to have Shaun in it. You know, he's like the face of snowboarding to the mass media. But there's definitely other guys out there besides him, which is cool. He wasn't there, but there's a lot of other people to see."
