SOUNDBITE: (English) John Bertrand, Swimming Australia President:
"Well Ian is the highest profile sportsman that this country's ever produced. At one stage he would have been the highest profile sportsman in the world. And he's a private person, we respect that. He's going through very, very tough times. He has a very serious illness, we know that, and we'll endeavour to give all the support we can through his peers, through his friends. Clearly the support system he has is his family and very close friends and we understand that."
