  • Intro:

Jessica Korda won the season-opening Bahamas LPGA Classic at Paradise Island on Sunday (26 January) for her second tour title.

    Script:

The idyllic Paradise Island resort played host to some fantastic golf on the final day of the LPGA Classic.

Stacey Lewis was obviously enjoying her surroundings in the Bahamas as she birdied six of the first eight to go 17-under par, she would end the tournament in second place.

Lizette Salas was also in contention but she eventually finished in a tie for third on 16 under.

Jessica Korda set up a birdie with her approach shot at the ninth to move to 16-under.

The 20-year-old found herself up against the grandstand as she looked for the win on the eighteenth.

She may have failed with her eagle attempt, Korda did birdie the final two to claim her second LPGA Tour success thanks to a seven-under-par 66, which sees her jump from 40th to 26th in the world rankings.
