The men's FIS Freestyle World Cup mogul final took place at Deer Valley in Utah in the United States on Saturday.

Reigning Olympic mogul champion Alex Bilodeau was seeing stars when he won first place.

Bilodeau plans to retire after next month's Russian Winter Olympics but if the 26-year-old wins gold in Sochi he'll become the first male freestyle skier to win multiple Olympic titles.

The Montréal athlete will head to the Games as the reigning world silver medallist, having narrowly lost to Mikaël Kingsbury at the 2013 FIS World Championships.

Today the Olympic champion overtook fellow countryman Kingsbury, after finishing second to his fellow Quebecer in the previous three World Cups this season.

Kingsbury came second in Utah with Russia's Alexandr Smyshlyaev finishing third.
