On Tuesday (January 7th) she withdrew from the Games because of complications arising from a long-term injury to her right knee.

"I'm really hoping that I can defend my Olympic title from Vancouver. This has been the toughest journey for me so far, coming back from this injury, but I've worked extremely hard. It's definitely the most preparation time I've had as far as being in the gym and being physically ready so I'm just hoping that I can catch up a little bit with my on snow training and, like I said, to defend my title would be the ultimate reward for coming back from this injury."
