Wild Oats XI skipper Mark Richards discussed his crew's record-equalling seventh Sydney Hobart Yacht Race victory on Saturday.

SOUNDBITE (English) Mark Richards, Wild Oats XI skipper:
"It was an unbelievably tough race, that one. Mentally and physically and the first half of the race was very light air and very tricky sailing which is always really demanding mentally but they guys did a wonderful job, the boat is an amazing machine you know and when the breeze really started to kick in this afternoon, or this morning, running in 35-40 knots of breeze sort of extreme sailing stuff is pretty cool and a lot of really experienced guys on board and the boat was absolutely flying. It was fantastic."

"Yes seven wins; Who would have thought? I mean it is just something you don't even dream about but you know it is something I don't even think about until you actually get here and you actually win a race but we have done it seven times out of nine races so it is something we're all very, very proud of that's for sure."
