Rodman in North Korea for fun not politics

Monday, December 23 2013 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Former basketball star Dennis Rodman made the comments on Friday in Pyongyang, North Korea. The ex-Chicago Bulls basketball player is expected to provide North Korea's national basketball team with four days of training. He also intends to return to Pyongyang in January with a team of fellow former National Basketball Association stars to hold basketball games on Kim Jong Un's birthday, despite political tension surrounding the recent execution of leader Kim Jong Un's uncle.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English) Dennis Rodman, former NBA player:
"People need to understand one thing, I'm not just coming over here to meet the leader, the marshal. I came over here to meet the basketball team, to prepare a great game for the leader for his birthday. And people need to understand that it's not important for me to meet him every time I come over because he has another greater job to do for his country, and I respect that, but this trip was basically to come over to train the team, so we can have a great, great, game."
