Week nine in the Euroleague wrapped up on Friday.

In Group B EA7 Emporio Armani Milan edged Germany's Brose Baskets Bamberg 74-73.

The result secured a Top 16 spot for the Italian team.

Alessandro Gentile made two free throws with 17 seconds left and Curtis Jerrells came up with a steal in the final second to secure the victory.

In the same group Real Madrid remained unbeaten with a 79-66 victory over Strasbourg in the Spanish capital.

The loss mathematically eliminated Strasbourg from the Top 16 race.

Madrid, who never trailed, pulled away in the second quarter behind a pair of 13-3 runs.

Group C saw Galatasaray Liv Hospital ease past Stelmet Zielona Gora 76-57 in Istanbul to clinch second place in the standings.

The result also eliminated the Polish champions from Top 16 contention.

Elsewhere Budivelnik Kiev defeated JSF Nanterre 97-87 - however, the win was not enough to keep the Ukrainian champions alive in the race for the Top 16.

Darjus Lavrinovic paced the winners with 29 points on a near-perfect shooting performance, and added 10 rebounds.

Partizan NIS Belgrade will advance to the Top 16 from fourth place in Group A if they win next week or Nanterre lose.

The French champions Nanterre will only advance if they win and Partizan lose.

Finally, in Group D, Panathinaikos Athens breezed past Lokomotiv Kuban 63-82 in Krasnodar, Russia.

Antonis Fotsis and Roko Ukic led six Panathinaikos scorers in double figures with 17 points apiece.

The Greek team's victory meant Israel's Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv clinched first place in the group having held off Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius 78-71 on Thursday night.
