David Wise wins on the halfpipe in Oslo

    Switzerland's Virginie Faivre won the women's halfpipe at the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships in Oslo, Norway, while American David Wise won the men's title on Tuesday.

    The Halfpipe finals in the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships took place on Tuesday night) in Oslo Vinterpark superpipe, just outside of the Norwegian capital.

    The men's title went to American David Wise, whose first run of 96.2 points was enough for victory.

    Wise, a four-time US champion, was fourth in the two previous worlds in 2009 and 2011.

    He finished ahead of fellow-American Torin Yater-Wallace, who posted a score of 95.6 on his first run.

    Frenchman Thomas Krief was third with a run of 94.2.

    In the women's event the top prize went to Switzerland's Virginie Faivre who posted 83.8 on her second run to clinch victory.

    Faivre, was third after her first run, but passed first run leader Anais Caradeux with her second, to regain the title she won in 2009.

    Caradeux's top score was 80.6 points, with Japan's Ayana Onozuka closely behind with a top run of 80.4.
