The 15-8 favourite Long Run claimed victory in a thrilling finish to the King George VI Chase at Kempton Park on Wednesday winning the race for a second time.

    Script:

The King George VI Chase at Kempton Park went right to the line on Wednesday.

In heavy conditions the favourite Long Run made a bad mistake five fences out and also struggled over the final fence under pressure from Captain Chris.

But Amateur jockey Sam Waley-Cohen and his mount managed to dig deep on the run-in beating Captain Chris by a neck.

The win saw Long Run reclaim the King George title - only the seventh horse in history to do so.

The seven-year-old, who is owned by the jockey's father Robert, will now be hoping to complete another King George/Gold Cup double in Cheltenham in March.
