  • Intro:

Jeremy Lin spoke after Houston Rockets practice, two days after losing their 2012-13 home debut to the Portland Trail Blazers.

His team next travel to Denver to play the Nuggets on Thursday.

    Script:

Despite Jeremy Lin having 13 points and seven assists in his home debut for the Rockets, his team lost for the first time this season, 93 to 85 to the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday.

"We have a lot of potential, we showed that. We have a lot of work to do, we also showed that. And I think those are the two main things I would say, it's just like, it's so early in the process but we've shown some signs of growth and positive things and then we've shown our youth quite a bit as well."

"I'm not sure if, like, we needed to be woken up. I think we were very aware of what our issues were. I didn't think people were getting too complacent or arrogant or anything so ... But I think it showed us where we need to get better and, energy, bringing energy and things like that."

"It doesn't really change too much in terms of what it was before with Kevin (Martin), I think it's just making plays whenever I have the opportunity and so, sometimes I come off of picks, sometimes he comes off of picks and then we just play off of each other."

Lin on James Harden, the NBA's 2011-12 Sixth Man of the Year signed a five-year, $80 million contract extension last Wednesday. Houston Rockets next play the Nuggets in Denver on Thursday.
