China were then guaranteed another three victories in three all China contests - the mixed doubles, the women's doubles and in the women's singles, where world number one and London Olympics silver medalist Wang Yihan defeated compatriot Jiang Yanjiao to claim the title.

It then fell to top seeded Japan duo Hiroyuki Endo and Kenichi Hayakawa to put a stop to China's winning streak.

But in their first ever Superseries tournament Chai Biao and Zhang Nan managed to hold on winning the men's doubles and completing another stunning sweep for China.
