Script:
It is one of the better places to win your first professional trophy - Lydia Hall lifted the British Masters at Buckinghamshire Golf Club having never won on the Ladies European Tour.
The twenty-four-year-old was just one stroke ahead of Beth Allen from the USA, who ended the tournament on six-under.
South Africa's Ashleigh Simon was the overnight leader but faded to finish on five-under.
England's best chances of a win on home soil came in the shape of Trish Johnson and Henrietta Zuel.
They both also finished on five-under - tied for third along with Stacy Lee Bregman, Rebecca Artis and Mikaela Parmild.
But it was all about Hall, who holed three birdies on the first 11 holes.
Allen was leading on the 17th but carded a triple bogey there gave the lead back to Hall.
SOUNDBITE (English) Lydia Hall, British Masters champion: "It is just an honour to be winning the British Masters. Obviously it is an ultimate dream of every professional golfer to win a tournament and I have been working as hard as I can for the last five years. And to be here at the home, at Buckinghamshire Golf Club, the home of the LET is just an honour."
Hall was handed a winner's cheque for £45,000 and a champagne shower after her maiden LET trophy success.
