Bruno Spengler claimed his second win of the season when he won the sixth round of the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) season at the Nurburgring in Nurburg, Germany on Sunday.

    Script:

Bruno Spengler kept himself within touching distance of overall leader Gary Paffett of Great Britain after securing victory for BMW at the Nurburgring in the sixth round of the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) season.

The Canadian had started in pole position, a lead he maintained for the duration of the race.

That left Edoardo Mortara of Switzerland settling for second place, whilst current reigning champion Martin Tomczyk of Germany took third.

Paffett lost three seconds at his second tyre stop after his HWA crew were unstuck as they attempted to attach a right-rear wheel to his car.

Briton Jamie Green was the best-placed Mercedes-Benz driver in fourth, with German Mike Rockenfeller crossing the finish line in fifth ahead of Paffett.

Spengler's win, his second since joining BMW, was the 11th of his career.

That win moved him into second place in the championship, 20 points behind overall leader Paffett.

The next race will be at Circuit Park in Zandvoort in the Netherlands on Sunday the 26th of August.
