Junior dos Santos secures TKO victory over Frank Mir in the main heavyweight event of UFC 146 in Las Vegas, USA on Saturday night.

Las Vegas provided all the glitz, glamour on Saturday night - with the heady backdrop of the MGM Grand Garden Arena adding to the spectacle of ufc 146.

The main event of the night, watched by a crowd of nearly 15,000, saw Junior dos Santos go head-to-head against Frank Mir, a two-time UFC champion and the challenger, in a hotly anticipated heavyweight clash. 

Moments into the second round a right hander floored Mir and referee Herb Dean ended the fight - a technical knock out - at 3:04.

In the co-main event Cain Velasquez took on Antonio Silva in another heavyweight clash.

Barely five seconds in Velasquez caught Antonio Silva with a kick and dumped the Brazilian on the mat.

Referee Josh Rosenthal halted the action 3:36 into the first round. 

Stipe Miocic proved too much for Shane del Rosario in their bout, with Miocic able to take the victory in the second round.
