Coach Heyneke Meyer has some clear goals in mind.

SOUNDBITE (English) Heyneke Meyer, South Africa Springbok coach:

"I just want to win the first test against England, and I have said, if you put the right structure in place, the right game plan and the right culture - and I am very big on the culture and the environment... I love a positive environment, it's been great to see the positivity of the players, if all things fall into place and we go out there and get momentum and win every single Test match, the (next) World Cup will take care of its self, he said.

Pierre Spies, captain of The Bulls in the Super Rugby competition, said that he expects some real competition from England when they arrive, given their showing in the recent Six Nations series in Europe.

SOUNDBITE (English) Pierre Spies, captain of The Bulls:

"The England squad are coming here with some confidence from six nations and you... it's definitely going to be quite competitive, competition at three Tests."

He added that should experienced lock Victor Matfield decide to come out of international retirement, he'd be the ideal man to lead the Springboks as they step into a new era under Meyer.

SOUNDBITE (English) Pierre Spies, captain of The Bulls:

    (On Victor Matfield)

"He will do a great job with South Africa even if is for these three Tests, so we just have to wait and see what complications they are, if he wants to come back, otherwise it will be a good thing for South Africa."

The coach will take his time to choose a captain in the coming weeks.
