Dutchess of Cambridge takes to the hockey pitch

Friday, March 16 2012 by SNTV

  • Intro:

The Duchess of Cambridge gave the Team GB hockey teams a 'fantastic boost' during her visit to the Olympic Park in Stratford on Thursday.

The former school hockey captain couldn't resist showing off her skills by joining the teams on the pitch.

    Script:

Another date for the Duchess of Cambridge's very busy diary.

This time she was visiting the women's GB hockey squads at the Olympic park on Thursday.

And taking in the spectacular multi-coloured pitch.

The Duchess is a pretty dab hand with a hockey stick and couldn't resist showing off her skills.

She wasn't hockey captain at Marlborough College for nothing, just check out that stick action.

    Wowza.

She was joined by another Kate, Great Britain and England women's hockey captain, Kate Walsh.

And she even got her own Team GB top. Handy if they need an extra player.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Kate Walsh: (on Team GB's form) "We're ranked fourth in the world at the moment. We've just come back from the Champion's trophy where we won the silver medal. So we're knocking on the door of the podium and it's just making sure we get that consistent run of games and if we can play to our potential I believe we can get on the podium."

    And there she goes again.

We reckon the Duchess looks just as good in trainers as her high heels.
