Jose Mourinho and Mikel Arteta are both under pressure in north London, with ex-Chelsea man Maurizio Sarri reportedly on the radar of both Arsenal and Tottenham if things don't improve

North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are both 'following' the availability of former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, according to reports in Italy.

Sarri is without a job since being sacked by Juventus at the end of last season, despite securing a ninth consecutive Serie A title for the Old Lady.

He is now actively looking to get back into management, and although he turned down the chance to take over at Marseille, other clubs are now tracking him.

Two of those clubs are believed to be Arsenal and Tottenham, with both sides disappointing under Mikel Arteta and Jose Mourinho this season.

Rai journalist Ciro Venerato said: "I received a phone call from Figline Valdarno (where Sarri lives) from friends of the former Juventus manager, and I discovered interesting things. Maurizio Sarri has not signed with any team.

"A month ago he said no to Marseille. Arsenal and Tottenham are following him, as well as Roma".

Despite lasting only a season at both Chelsea and Juventus, Sarri has earned respect wherever he has gone.

The Italian was lauded for his style of play while at Napoli, leading to his appointment at Stamford Bridge in 2018.

Sarri won the Europa League and reached the EFL Cup final in west London and guided Chelsea to third in the Premier League.

Hs short spell at Juventus produced a similar level of consistency, with Juve winning their ninth Serie A title in a row and finishing runner-up in the Coppa Italia.

With Arsenal and Tottenham both performing below expectation this season, it's easy to see how Sarri's attractive style of play and ability to secure results could appeal on both sides of north London.
