Liverpool are starting to come to terms with the fact they could Georginio Wijnaldum to Barcelona.

Liverpool are preparing for the exit of Georginio Wijnaldum and have eyed midfield star Rodrigo De Paul to fill in his shoes. Barcelona are looking to sign the Reds star with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Liverpool are gearing up for Wijnaldum's exit at the end of the season when his contract expires.

Ronald Koeman has made no secret of his desire to bring the midfielder to Barcelona, having coached him when in charge of the Netherlands.

The former Newcastle star signed for the Reds in 2016 and has helped them win the Champions League and Premier League during his time there.

But after five years, it could be the end for the 30-year-old, who is free to speak to foreign clubs over terms this month.

Barcelona are the most interested and could end up signing the Dutchman for nothing when the summer arrives.

And Liverpool are starting to come to terms with that and have already eyed a replacement to fill his boots.

Udinese star De Paul has been touted as the ideal player to come in, according to Todofichajes.

The Argentine has been on Liverpool's radar for some time and they could be ready to ramp up their efforts if Wijnaldum departs.

As well as the Reds, Leeds United, Juventus and Inter Milan are also interested in the midfielder.

And Udinese have already dropped their asking price to €35m as they encounter financial problems.

Todofichajes further report that Liverpool have already initiated contact with the 26-year-old over a transfer.

Leeds are also keen on the former Valencia star, with Marcelo Bielsa a huge fan of his compatriot.

The Whites manager was close to landing his countryman in the last transfer window but a deal could not be pulled off in time.

With how the season is panning out, the Elland Road outfit were prepared to wait until the end of the season but may find that Liverpool have raced ahead of them for his signature.
