Mauricio Pochettino is set to poach players from Tottenham and Premier League champions Liverpool as he is charged with changing PSG’s fortunes.

The Argentine has been confirmed as the new manager of the French champions, having spent a year out of work following his sacking from Spurs.

He has a tough job, though, as he inherits a side from Thomas Tuchel that are third in Ligue 1 and face a tough Champions League round-of-16 clash against Barcelona.

And it could see Pochettino turn to some of his former north London players to bolster the squad.

Betfair spokesperson, Sam Rosbottom, said: “Now that PSG have confirmed Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager, there's no doubt they will be looking to back him in the transfer market.

“Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has previously worked with Poch at Spurs, he is 2/1 to sign for the French Champions.

“Another player that has played under the Argentine is Harry Kane and PSG are 8/1 to sign the England captain.”

Spurs’ goalkeeper Lloris has already been linked with a move to the Parc des Princes, with Jose Mourinho even looking at alternative options.

While Alli has been left frustrated by the boss this season, leading to the Englishman being linked with a move away.

Kane may have hit a league record in his combination with Son Heung-Min, the goal-scorer remains a favourite of Pochettino, having helped him to the Champions League final in 2019.

And the 27-year-old spoke out about a potential exit earlier this year, making a PSG move viable.

But PSG boast one of the richest football owners in the world with the backing of Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who funded the world-record £200m transfer of Neymar.

And the Brazilian’s former Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi could soon be in Pochettino’s sights.

The Argentine has made his desire to leave the club clear recently and is in a position where he can negotiate a deal.

While Manchester City have been most heavily linked with the forward, PSG have the ability to compete for his signature.

Rosbottom added: “There is still a big question over the future of Lionel Messi, will he stay or will he leave Barcelona.

“The French side have long been linked with him and they are currently 6/1 to be his next club.”

The same can also be said of Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, who recently opened the door to an Anfield exit.

Topping the Premier League scoring charts, the Egyptian has been a target for PSG since 2018 - and the arrival of Pochettino, who created the partnership of Kane and Son, could spark a move.

And the French side have been linked with a move for five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo since November.

With Juventus struggling to pay the forward’s hefty wages and seeking a deal for Kylian Mbappe, the new boss could get a proven winner in his squad.

Manchester United were hoping to secure Pochettino’s signature amid previous pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – but the Red Devils could benefit from his move to PSG.

PSG transfer target odds

Hugo Lloris 2/1

Lionel Messi 6/1

Harry Kane 8/1

Dele Alli 10/1
