Moussa Sissoko insists it is too early for Tottenham to speak about Premier League title

Tottenham flying high

Tottenham's start to the 2020/21 campaign has, quite frankly, been remarkable.

The Lilywhites, of course, endured a hugely disappointing season last time out, which saw long-time boss Mauricio Pochettino depart the club.

In the weeks leading up to Poch's departure, Spurs looked a squad completely devoid of confidence, and in serious need of a rebuild.

The arrival of Jose Mourinho, since backed by some solid summer business, though, sees the north Londoners now looking well on their way towards a new, prosperous era.

Sissoko on Tottenham challenging for Premier League

As things stand, the north Londoners sit top of the Premier League table, with 21 points amassed from their opening 10 outings.

They are also the second-highest scorers in the division, and boast the best defensive record.

As such, at present, it appears only fair to state that Spurs are indeed title contenders.

Jose Mourinho, however, was quick to play down such suggestions following his side's 0-0 draw with Chelsea at the weekend:

"We are just a pony!"

Jose Mourinho says leaders Tottenham are not in the title race, describing them as a 'pony' in the battle to win the Premier League.

And now, Moussa Sissoko has also moved to temper expectations when it comes to a potential title challenge on the part of Spurs:

"It's too early to speak about the title. But like we always said, we are going to play every game to win. In a couple of months we will see where we are. It will be difficult but we are playing really good."

Sissoko echoing Jose's caution when discussing #THFC's title chances. "It's too early to speak about the title. But like we always said, we are going to play every game to win. In a couple of months we will see where we are. It will be difficult but we are playing really good."
