Manchester United should stick with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to his former treble-winning team-mate Andy Cole.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should not be sacked despite the club's poor form this season, according to Andy Cole. The Red Devils manager is under pressure with the club down in the bottom half of the Premier League table with Mauricio Pochettino touted as a possible replacement.

Cole thinks Solskjaer has turned the club around though since he replaced Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

United finished third in the Premier League last season and made it into three semi-finals in other competitions.

Cole believes Solskjaer galvanized his players to get them into the top four last season and believes he is the right man for the job despite speculation.

He told Express Sport: "I enjoyed playing with Ole. Ole is a very, very nice guy.

"You don't want to see anyone given a lot of stick. Since he has gone in he has turned things around.

"We haven't been lucky enough to win any silverware at the moment.

"This season we haven't started the way we would have liked but take nothing away from Ole.

"Ultimately, at the back end of last season nobody thought they would finish in the top four.

"That's down to the manager galvanizing the players to do just that."

Cole also opened up on what he thinks Marcus Rashford can do to become a better player and praised the England man for his work off the pitch.

He explained: "What he has done off the football pitch is very, very noble and it is fantastic what he is doing.

"For such a young man to so something like that is real, real special.

"On the football pitch I think we all know he is a talent. I think consistency is the most important thing for him now."

Cole also thinks Rashford needs to find his best position to maximise his talents.

He added: "I get asked the question about him and Martial all the time. I mean you can only ask those guys what their favourite position is and where they want to play for the next 10 years."

United return to action after the international break when they take on West Brom on Saturday, November 21.
