Antonio Conte clashed with Sevilla star Ever Banega during the Europa League final over a bizarre “wig” jibe.

The Inter Milan manager saw his side lost 3-2 to the La Liga team, their sixth time winning the European honour in 15 years.

It means the Italian side got the silver medal in Europe as well as finishing second by one point this season to Juventus.

And Sky Sport Italia have reported that it all got a bit too much for Conte in an altercation with Banega.

The 51-year-old was mocked by the midfielder over his hair during a touchline row.

Reports say that Banega shouted to the Italian asking: “Let’s see if that wig is real”.

But Inter’s coach did not leave it there as he said to the Sevilla star that he would “see him after the game”.

Sevilla’s win means they have extended their record number of Europa League wins, three ahead of the nearest contenders Inter.

Inter took the lead after just five minutes, with Romelu Lukaku winning a foul from Diego Carlos in the penalty box before slotting from the spot.

But Luuk de Jong, whose goal sunk Manchester United in the semi-final, got the equaliser just seven minutes later.

And the Dutchman was on hand to give Sevilla the lead after 33 minutes, heading from distance to loop past Samir Handanovic.

Inter, though, were able to draw the game at half time as Diego Godin got the end of a free kick two minutes later.

After a battling second-half, it was Carlos’ bicycle kick from a free kick that saw Lukaku deflect into the roof of the net for the winner.

While Inter suffered disappointment in Cologne, it was a record night for the Belgian as he matched Cristiano Ronaldo’s debut-season tally of 34 goals.

And United fans reacted to their former forward hitting new heights at Inter on Twitter.
