Jack Grealish has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United transfer target Jack Grealish has reportedly made it clear to Aston Villa he will leave the club at the end of the season, regardless of whether they stay in the Premier League or not. Grealish was back in action for Villa on Wednesday as the Premier League returned to action with the club playing out a 0-0 draw with Sheffield United.

The result did little to help Villa's fight to avoid relegation as they missed out on a chance to climb out of the drop zone.

With nine games remaining, Grealish will undoubtedly be key in their fight to stay in the Premier League.

Just three points separate Villa in 19th and Brighton in 15th with Dean Smith's side facing a difficult run to the end of the season.

Grealish has been a large reason for Villa still having a chance of survival having scored seven goals and provided six assists in the league.

It follows on from his impressive form last year which helped Villa earn promotion from the Championship.

The 24-year-old has long been touted as a star of the future but his first season back in the Premier League with Villa has already attracted attention from clubs higher up the table.

Grealish has a strong affiliation with Villa though and there has been some suggestion he would stay beyond this summer if the club was able to avoid the drop.

However, The Athletic report Grealish has already decided that he will leave whatever the outcome.

It is claimed that United are the favourites for his signature, although there is expected to be plenty of interest from other teams.

The report does go on to say though that Villa owners Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris will do everything in their power to convince Grealish to stay.

They put up a fight when clubs came calling for Grealish's signature two years ago, but they may be powerless this time around if potential suitors meet their valuation.

Former United striker Dimitar Berbatov though doubts whether Grealish would fit in at United given Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already has Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba.

"In my opinion, I think they have enough quality in the team anyway, especially with Pogba coming back, but maybe Solskjaer has a different decision and he has decided that they need someone to strengthen there," he told Betfair.

"There have also been reports about United being interested in Jack Grealish, last week Sancho was their top target, this week it's Grealish, next week it will be somebody else.

"There are so many players associated with a move to United at the moment, it is a good thing I suppose and for the players it boost their reputation.

"I can see Grealish being a better fit at United than someone else, he is used to the Premier League and he is producing great goals and assists.

"But, he is similar to Fernandes, Pogba and Mata in a way and you don't want too much similarity in your team."
