Arsenal manager Arteta: I would love to keep David Luiz

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he would love David Luiz to stay at the club.

Luiz, 33, is out of contract at the end of this season, but it is believed both parties are in talks over an extension.

And Arteta hopes the Brazilian defender is part of his squad next term.

"I'm really happy with David," he said. "I want to keep him here with us. He's been a key role model for me since I joined.

"I like what he produces on the pitch. I like his influence around the players and the club. I'd love to keep him."
