Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has revealed he is desperate for the Premier League season to resume as soon as it is safe to do so
Jose Mourinho has insisted he is ready and raring for the Premier League to restart the season.
It comes after the Tottenham boss took part in a meeting with other Premier League managers on Wednesday to discuss 'Project Restart'.
The league's medical officer Mark Gillet led the meeting, outlining the safety protocols of players returning to training, with Spurs allowing their squad to resume individual training at their club facilities on April 28.
The former Chelsea and Manchester United boss has now insisted he is 'desperate' for football to return 'as soon as it is safe'.

Mourinho said: "I don't think my position in the meeting has been reflected fairly at all in media reports. I have not asked for any delay.
"I want to train, and I am desperate for the Premier League to return as soon as it is safe to do so, particularly now we are seeing other leagues preparing to return to action."

Mourinho has praised the professionalism of his players during lockdown and insists they have been working hard to make sure they are in good shape once football gets the green light to start again.
Football has been suspended since March 13 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with players forced to train alone at home for the majority of the time.
Mourinho added: "I am extremely proud of the way my players have maintained their fitness - they have shown great professionalism, passion and dedication.
"We have all been working extremely hard through remote squad training sessions and isolated running now the pitches are available to use again at the training centre.
"Every player has been extremely committed in terms of their individual work and now we wait for clearance to commence working in small groups again, which I will fully support."
