GERMAN football returns this Saturday with Bundesliga stars, and potential Manchester United transfer targets, back in action.

The Red Devils' desire for Jadon Sancho is well known but there are a number of other star players on show that could fit the bill in Manchester.

Timo Werner, Erling Haaland, Kai Havertz and Dayot Upamecano are just some of the incredibly talented youngsters starring in the division.

Games get back underway behind closed doors on Saturday, with every remaining fixture shown live on BT Sport.

Borussia Dortmund are first up with the Ruhr Derby versus Schalke 04 at 2.30pm, the same time as RB Leipzig's clash with Freiburg, before Bayern Munich travel to Union Berlin on Sunday.

Here, SunSport runs down the star names United may be keeping tabs on when the action resumes.

JADON SANCHO (Borussia Dortmund, 20)

Ed Woodward has stated that United are unlikely to be making any big-name signings this summer - but if they are, they will surely start with Sancho.

Contract talks are thought to have been going on for months ahead of United launching an official bid to Dortmund.

And with 14 goals and 15 assists to his name, Borussia will be looking to the England winger to help close up their four-point gap to Bayern.

With wins in each of his last four Bundesliga appearances, Sancho hitting the ground running could convince United to do what it takes to bring him back to Manchester.

ERLING HAALAND (Borussia Dortmund, 19)

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were highly tipped to capture the Norwegian hotshot before he signed for Dortmund in the summer.

The chances of a fresh move at the end of the coming season may be pretty slim but scouts will no doubt be keeping tabs on his progress.

A staggering start of 12 goals in 11 games opened the floodgates on Haaland's time in Germany and he is thought to be available for around £63million.

United might like to let the teenager accrue a little experience before making their next swoop but if rival interest from Real Madrid becomes serious they may have no choice but to fire off a bid.

KAI HAVERTZ (Bayer Leverkusen, 20)

After a couple of seasons in the mire, Bayer Leverkusen returned to the Champions League this year and they have Kai Havertz to thank.

Already capped seven times by Germany at the age of 20, the attacking midfielder rifled home 20 goals last campaign.

Although he struggled to star in Europe's elite club competition this time around, many expect Havertz to develop into the latest Bundesliga star.

Whether this summer is the right time for him to leave could depend on who can afford him, with United joined by Chelsea and Liverpool in sniffing around.

DAYOT UPAMECANO (RB Leipzig, 21)

Football's coronavirus-affected transfer market may still find room to squabble over Dayot Upamecano this summer.

Out of contract in 2021, the RB Leipzig centre-back will nevertheless be highly valued by his wealthy club.

Arsenal failed with a £55m bid last year and could come back again, possibly being joined by United.

A defender is reportedly on Solskjaer's wishlist but admittedly drops below the need for attacking reinforcements - should those deals fail, watch this space.

TIMO WERNER (RB Leipzig, 24)

Having taken Leipzig into the last-eight of the Champions League, the idea of Timo Werner firing them to the Bundesliga title and strolling off into the sunset may become reality if the stars align this summer.

A mega tally of 27 goals has alerted the continent's top clubs, hoping to offer the striker a starring role should he feel he has outgrown Die Roten Bullen.

Of course, Liverpool are reportedly the hot favourites to snap up the German, who has openly talked about considering his future at the end of the season.

That could make the prospect of gazumping their rivals too tempting to turn down for United, if they want to truly announce their return to the Premier League title race.
