Juventus released a statement of their own, explaining the player's home isolation of late.

"Paulo Dybala has undergone medical tests that revealed a positive result for Coronavirus-COVID19," it read.

"He has been in voluntary home isolation since Wednesday 11 March.

"He will continue to be monitored, following the usual regime. He is well and is asymptomatic."

The Argentinian is the latest player in Italy to test positive for the virus.

Team-mate Daniele Rugani was the first Juventus ace to test positive.

Meanwhile, Omar Colley, Albin Ekdal, Antonio La Gumina, Manolo Gabbiadini, Morten Thorsby and Dusan Vlahovic have also been affected.

Italy has been hit hardest by the pandemic in recent weeks, with thousands of deaths.

Almost 800 people have lost their life to the disease in the last 24 hours alone, in new figures released today.

Serie A chiefs are hoping football can return by May 2 but that date remains optimistic.

And bosses are now considering cutting salaries to save money during the crisis.

"It can't be taboo to talk about salary cuts," FIGC president Gabriele Gravina told Radio 24.

"We must understand that the emergency applies to everyone and our world must also have the ability to change.

"We have been called upon to make gestures of great responsibility."
