Dujon Sterling could make his return to Wigan’s matchday squad on Saturday when the Latics face Sky Bet Championship basement boys Luton at the DW Stadium.
The on-loan Chelsea full-back, not involved since coming off injured in the first half of the 2-0 FA Cup loss at Leicester on January 4, has been back in training.
Fellow defender Chey Dunkley is sidelined after undergoing surgery having suffered a fractured tibia and fibula at Reading.
Joe Gelhardt (knock), Antonee Robinson (groin), Danny Fox (groin) and Kieran Dowell (ankle) are also unavailable.
Luton are set to give late fitness tests to a trio of players.
Kazenga LuaLua, Luke Berry and Sonny Bradley, who have all been sidelined by minor knocks, will be assessed.
James Shea (broken finger), Brendan Galloway (knee) and Eunan O’Kane (broken leg) remain sidelined.
The Hatters have lost only one and won three of their last five matches.
