Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Becks was quizzed over the prospect of making star signings.

And the 44-year-old teased: "Well you know what, we've got great opportunities down in Miami.

"'We've been contacted by a lot of different players over possibly coming to join the team.

"As with any owner, you really want the best players and if we have the opportunity to bring in players like Cristiano or Leo, I have such admiration for them as athletes, if we could bring those players in then great."

With Ronaldo now 35 and Messi 32 - the pair could be forgiven for already giving heavy consideration to how and where they are going to finish their illustrious careers.

But with both stars still appearing at the highest level - having played for Juventus and Barcelona in the Champions League this week - Becks was keen to point out just how happy he is with his current squad.

He added: "But at the moment, we have a great roster. Young players, a couple of experienced players too, but a lot of young players who are just ready to play."

Beckham even went on to mention advice received from his legendary former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, explaining: "One of the things I learned from Alex Ferguson... he turned around to me and said whoever you bring in, they have to be the right fit for the club.

"It's not about the biggest name or personality, it's about who fits in best with the players.

"That's what we'll do. But, like I said, as an owner if you want to bring these players in then we have a great opportunity."

Despite drawing a blank against Lyon last night, Ronaldo has been in red-hot form for Juventus of late.

The Portuguese legend has banged in 16 goals in 11 Serie A matches since the turn of the year, showing no signs of slowing down any time soon.

Messi, meanwhile, has 18 goals and 12 assists in LaLiga as Barcelona skipper this term.

Inter Miami travel to LAFC on Sunday as they finally make their MLS debut.

Becks has appeared at the club's training ground as they have geared up for the clash.

And he will be hopeful that his side can pick up three points against former Swansea boss Bob Bradley's side.
