Stevenage suffer home defeat to Salford

Struggling Stevenage remain seven points from safety following a 1-0 defeat at home to Salford.
Brandon Thomas-Asante scored the winner as Boro paid the price for some wasteful finishing
The home side started in confident fashion, with Luther James-Wildin forcing Kyle Letheren into a seventh-minute save.
Jake Cassidy fired an effort wide on 19 minutes, before James Wilson went close with a curler at the other end seconds later.
West Ham loanee Dan Kemp dipped a free-kick just over for Boro on 26 minutes, before Cassidy was marginally off target four minutes later.
Stevenage were dealt a blow when Thomas-Asante headed home from Ibou Touray’s cross on 32 minutes.
Letheren did brilliantly to tip over a Kemp effort after he got through on goal just after the restart.
Charlie Lakin fired wide from close range in the 55th minute, before Cassidy was inches away with a bending effort 15 minutes from time.
Sub Tom Elliott headed over with nine minutes to go, but Boro now face a desperate fight for survival.
