Danny Whitehall hit a brace as Eastleigh’s losing run was extended to four games following a 2-0 Vanarama National League defeat at Maidenhead.
Maidenhead went ahead from the penalty spot in the sixth minute after Rob Atkinson brought down Josh Kelly and Whitehall made no mistake.
Udoka Godwin-Malife fired narrowly wide as Eastleigh went in search of an immediate leveller and at the other end Remy Clerima fed Kelly but he clipped his effort wide of the post.
Whitehall got his second goal of the afternoon in the 33rd minute when he finished at the back post to turn home a fine ball across goal from Kelly.
Jake Scrimshaw came closest to getting Eastleigh back into the game after the break but curled over after Scott Rendell’s lay-off.
