Notts County claim hard-fought point at Maidenhead

Notts County extended their unbeaten run to six National League matches with a goalless draw at Maidenhead.
Samuel Osborne threatened twice for County inside the opening 10 minutes, first forcing Chris Dunn into a save before firing over from Enzio Boldewijn’s cross.
Both sides struggled to create clear-cut chances as the half wore on, Maidenhead’s Daniel Whitehall having perhaps the best opportunity just before the break, but could only find the side-netting from close range.
The 24-year-old hit the target after 58 minutes as he burst through on goal, but County goalkeeper Sam Slocombe produced a smart save at his near post.
Maidenhead began to pile on the pressure as Josh Kelly flicked James Comley’s cross just over before Oluwaseun Akintunde’s shot was saved by Slocombe.
County full-back Dion Kelly-Evans made a crucial clearance in the 87th minute to prevent Akintunde from nodding in as the visitors held on to the point.
