Plymouth Argyle vs Bristol Rovers - Edwards back for FA Cup replay against Bristol Rovers
Posted Monday, December 16, 2019 by PA
Joe Edwards is free to return to action for Plymouth as they prepare to face Bristol Rovers in their FA Cup second round replay.
Edwards missed the Pilgrims’ 3-0 defeat of Morecambe at the weekend after picking up a suspension for collecting five yellow cards.
The midfielder is now available again and could oust George Cooper, who deputised in his absence.
Callum McFadzean did not feature against Morecambe and is unlikely to overcome his knee injury in time.
Bristol Rovers’ Ollie Clarke will be forced to sit out the replay as he serves a one-match suspension.
Clarke was shown two yellow cards during Rovers’ 2-1 defeat of Ipswich at the weekend and must now serve a one-match ban.
Jonson Clarke-Harris is not expected to start as the striker’s previous calf injury has flared up again.
The fixture could be the last at the helm for boss Graham Coughlan, who the club have “reluctantly” allowed Mansfield to approach regarding their vacant managerial position.
