Manchester United tried to sign Paulo Dybala from Juventus during the transfer window.

Manchester United are open to signing Paulo Dybala from Juventus during the January transfer window, according to reports.

The Argentina international was linked with a move to Old Trafford back in the summer but, ultimately, a deal failed to materialise.

Manchester United pulled the plug on a deal because they deemed the financial demands of both Dybala and the player’s agent to be too big.

Yet Italian newspaper Tuttosport say United are open to signing the forward when the transfer window reopens this winter.

It is claimed sources close to the Red Devils have told the publication the club may reignite their interest in January.

And they may produce an ‘irresistible offer’ if it’s necessary when it comes to signing him.

Juventus are reportedly open to letting Dybala go.

The player’s form has waned ever since Cristiano Ronaldo arrived from Real Madrid back in the summer of 2018.

And unless Maurizio Sarri starts using Dybala more then they are happy to listen to offers for the striker.

United have a chequered record when it comes to signing players in January.

Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic both arrived in the winter of 2006 and initially struggled to settle in Manchester.

But they later turned things around and are widely regarded as two of the best signings made by Sir Alex Ferguson.

United last signed a player in January back in 2018 when Jose Mourinho brought Alexis Sanchez to the club.

But that move has backfired with the Chile international now spending this season on loan at Inter Milan.

Meanwhile, Dybala’s agent Jorge Antun recently insisted his own demands did NOT scupper his client’s move.

That’s despite United claiming it did.

“I did speak to the English club, but the stories about the commission were not true,” he said.

“There were simply issues between the two clubs.”

Tottenham were also linked with a move for Dybala amid uncertainty over the future of Christian Eriksen.

But United are the team who appear ready to pounce should Juventus try and cash in.
