He may be 34-years-old, but nobody can deny that Cristiano Ronaldo is still one of the best footballers in the world.

The Portuguese forward has enjoyed one of the most illustrious careers ever, winning a wealth of personal and team awards.

His incredible eye for goal has been a key factor in his success, but it is his raw athleticism that makes him stand out from the crowd.

And despite not getting any younger, it seems his body isn’t giving up on him any time soon.

Ronaldo regularly uses his skills and electrifying pace to get past players and put himself in a goalscoring position.

And according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Portugal captain is still the fastest man in the Juventus squad.

Ronaldo was caught by the speed gun at a pace of 34.62km/h.

The Italian outlet claim that Ronaldo was quicker than the likes of Douglas Costa, Alex Sandro and Juan Cuadrado in the opening two rounds of Serie A fixtures.

Across the league, he trails only Napoli centre-back Kostas Manolas in race to be the fastest man in Italy’s top tier.

The Greek, who recently switched to Napoli from Roma, was measured at 35.41km/h.

Torino striker Simone Zaza was clocked at 34.56km/h.

Another two centre-backs round off the top five, with Roma’s Gianluca Mancini and Berat Djimsiti from Atlanta both also measuring speeds over 34km/h.

Ronaldo admits that retirement is definitely a possibility come the end of the season.

But he is adamant that he will continue to enjoyy playing football for as long as he can.

"I don't think about that,” Ronaldo told Portuguese station TVI on Tuesday.

"Maybe I can leave my career next year … but I can also play up to 40 or 41.

"I don't know. What I always say is to enjoy the moment. The gift is excellent and I have to continue to enjoy it.”
