There is more to come from Morecambe – boss Bentley

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley stressed there was more to come from his side after they claimed a narrow 1-0 Sky Bet League Two victory over Macclesfield at Moss Rose.
Ritchie Sutton scored the only goal of the game in the 64th minute to secure Morecambe their first win of the season.
Bentley admitted: “It was a little bit baffling; I don’t think we’re firing yet.
“I don’t think we’re playing as good football as we can do. But we’re hardworking and determined.
“The will to win has to be greater than the feeling of losing, we’re a little bit nervous and we need to identify that reason.
“It’s a big three points for us, Macclesfield are a good side and are in good form.
“They’ve played some good football recently, so we knew it was going to be a tough game. But I was pleased with our game management to see us home in the end.
“We won more battles in the second half, we embraced the challenge more and we passed the ball better…it was quite comfortable in the end in a really tough game.
“It is really pleasing to get the clean sheet; we just need to get the forwards firing now.”
The Silkmen were unlucky not to lead after hitting the woodwork twice.
Theo Archibald pinged the crossbar early on, before Barry Roche tipped Fiacre Kelleher’s effort onto the woodwork.
Sutton popped up with the winner in the second half when he converted Steven Old’s precise cross.
Daryl McMahon started life as a Football League manager with a home defeat.
McMahon replaced former England defender Sol Campbell – who left the club by mutual consent last week after a strong start to the season – on Monday.
McMahon, who last managed Ebbsfleet in the National League, said: “In general, it was a very good performance, I thought in the first half, they played really well.
“We moved the ball really well and we hit the crossbar twice – we weren’t clinical enough, but I thought we totally dominated.
“We’re a very young team, there’s going to bumps in the road but I think we need to stick with the lads and improve them, I believe in them and that’s why I’m here.
“When you’re on top in games and have so much of the ball you have to score and it was a massive sucker punch. You’ll see that from every level.
“We played really well today. If we hit that standard again we’ll win lots more games of football.
“The fans were absolutely terrific today. They enjoyed the first half today with the chances we created and we were exciting to watch.”
