Matthijs De Ligt's probable move to Barcelona has been put on standby due to agent Mino Raiola's concerns about the commission he would receive as part of the deal.

Neither Barcelona or Ajax are worried about this hold up because the two clubs have already agreed a fee in the region of 70 million euros.

The notorious agent is holding out for 20 percent of the transfer fee for himself, a figure of 14 million euros, which is incredibly high when you consider that agents usually receive between five and 10 percent.

With the defender already set on a move to the Camp Nou to follow teammate Frenkie De Jong, Ajax don't want to lose out on that 20 percent.

Due to Ajax's position, Raiola is hoping that another club comes in with a higher offer for his client so he can cash in the amount he desires.

The Dutch club are hoping to close out this deal quickly in order to reinvest in their current squad for next season.

"I think these will be De Ligt's final games with Ajax," Ajax chief executive Edwin Van der Sar said after their defeat to Tottenham in the Champions League. "I think he'll go to England or Spain."

De Ligt has been an integral part of Ajax's run to the Champions League semi-finals, scoring against Juventus and Tottenham in the knockout stages.
