Solskjaer warns Man Utd flops they may have played their last game for the club

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has hinted at wholesale changes at Manchester United - claiming some of his flops have played their last game for the club.

United put in another awful display drawing at Huddersfield, ending any chance of qualifying for the Champions League.

The visitors were without Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Romelu Lukaku and Chris Smalling against the relegated Terriers, but still should have had enough on the pitch to win the game.

Alexis Sanchez, making just his fourth Prem start this term partnered Marcus Rashford in attack with Juan Mata in the No10 role.

Solskjaer was quizzed specifically about Sanchez after the game and was asked if the Chilean, who was hooked in the second half for 19-year-old Tahith Chong will play for United again.

The United boss refused to clear up the South American’s future but issued a stark warning to his underperforming side who have won just two out of their last eleven games.

He said: “I can’t talk about individuals now but there’s a chance you’ve seen the last of players anyway.

“There’s always a chance it’s a last time but I wouldn’t say that about any individual now, I don’t think that’s fair.

“Today wasn’t one individual that was disappointing, it was the whole team.”

Sanchez is likely to be the biggest casualty, as the club is keen to get his £500,000-a-week wages off the books.

The futures of David De Gea, Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba are also under a cloud.

There are reports Pogba is keen to quit Old Trafford and join Real Madrid this summer.

Ander Herrera and Mata are out of contract and yet to agree new deals.

OUT OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

The draw also meant that United failed to qualify again for the Champions League.

Solskjaer, who has now won just two of 11 games in charge since being made permanent boss, added that the team don't deserve to be playing in Europe's top competition.

"We haven't deserved to be top four, we've chased the pack and been given chances, the league is so tight," he said.

"When we got the opportunities we didn't take them.

"The table doesn't lie in the end."

"It hurts whenever you don't win a game of football.

"In a stadium like this with loads of energy, their last game of the season at home, we gave them some hope and we couldn't reach our level again.

"The goal was very avoidable, we've conceded too many of those this season.

"Everton, Wolves, today - its something we must look at and improve on and not do that next season.

"There was always going to be a period in this game Huddersfield would press us because of the energy of the crowd.

"We had a spell we couldn't get going, now its done, we're disappointed but we have to look forward."
