Tranmere dealt Mark Ellis blow ahead of Bury clash

Tranmere have been dealt a blow as they prepare to face Bury, with the news defender Mark Ellis is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Centre-back Ellis limped out of the 1-0 defeat to Forest Green on Good Friday and tests have shown he has damaged cruciate knee ligaments.
Fellow defender Luke McCullough (knee) remains absent with a similar injury while forward Ishmael Miller (hamstring) will not play again this season despite returning to training earlier this month.
Right-back Evan Gumbs will undergo a scan after picking up an unspecified injury in Monday’s goalless draw at champions Lincoln, with Tranmere already assured of at least a play-off spot with two matches remaining.
Bury lie second in the table and could clinch promotion at Prenton Park if other results go their way.
Byron Moore is among those vying for a starting spot after coming off the bench in Monday’s 3-1 victory over Northampton.
Top scorer Nicky Maynard was on target last time out and is likely to lead the line again.
Bury will be hoping to end their three-match winless streak in away games.
