Reading could have Andy Rinomhota back for the Sky Bet Championship clash with Preston.
Midfielder Rinomhota has missed the last seven games because of an ankle injury but Royals boss Jose Gomes is hopeful he will be available on Saturday.
Forward Sam Baldock, who has not played since Boxing Day due to a thigh problem, may also return.
Nelson Oliveira (hamstring) is unlikely to feature, while fellow striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson (calf) remains sidelined.
Preston manager Alex Neil has no fresh selection concerns.
Forwards Callum Robinson and Louis Moult, who were named on the bench against Birmingham before the international break, are pushing for their first starts since their respective hamstring injuries.
Goalkeeper Connor Ripley has returned to full training following an ankle ligament injury suffered in January.
Long-term absentees Billy Bodin and Josh Harrop (both knee) remain unavailable.
